Radha Modgil

Radha Modgil is a medical doctor and television personality.
Modgil studied at Cambridge University gaining an MA and qualified as a doctor at to Imperial College, London. She worked for five years in hospital medicine in London and then trained for a further two years to qualify as a GP. Modgil continues to practice as an NHS GP, as well as teaching and working in health promotion.
Modgil is the co-host for BBC Radio 1's ''The Surgery'' every Wednesday. She was the resident GP for ''Live with Gabby'' on CH5 and also for Newsround CBBC. She appeared as the medical reporter & presenter for ''The Sex Education Show'' Ch4 (series 1-5) and ''Make My Body Younger'' BBC3 (Series 1-2). She can also regularly be seen reporting on ITV’s ''This Morning'', ''BBC Breakfast'' and ''ITV Tonight'', as well as other news channels.
Working across all platforms Modgil contributes to online projects including BBC Headroom (BAFTA Mental Health Media Award), Channel 4 ‘The History of Sexting’ online, BBC Learning – Remove the Taboo – mental health and Smoking cessation advice, BBC City Hospital and ITN News – Swine Flu.
Currently writing for Top of the Pops magazine, Modgil has also been the weekly columnist for Woman’s Own & MSN Lifestyle. She has written for Bliss Magazine Online, Red Magazine, Top Sante, Mail Online. Femail and The Times Educational Supplement.
She has also worked on numerous health promotion campaigns including contraception, fertility, IBS and family planning and has a particular interest in young people’s health. Working with MIND to promote mental well being. She has also worked with British Heart Foundation against childhood obesity. She is a member of the GP Advisory Board for Cancer Research UK.
She supports the JDRF charity and does a lot of work to promote diabetes management and research.
